Being A. Monk

It must be hard to be Adrian Monk.

He is just another normal guy. Like you .., like me..

Well, not exactly. May be a couple of phobias more than you or me. By couple, I mean a couple hundreds actually. But who doesn't have fears and phobias. I fear the fact that I am undecided about a lot of things. I fear the fact that I don't know so many things. I fear uncertainty. I fear deadlines.

.. and may be he has a couple of obsessive compulsive disorders. But hey, you've got it too. Don't you watch Netflix for an entire weekend, don't you listen to a single song for days, sometimes weeks - in the morning, on the way to work, at work, while cooking ... Ok, may be that's not you, that's me.

The point is, we are all like 'Monk'. But wait, may be not. Monk is intelligent, I mean really really intelligent. In spite of his fears, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorders, grief and loneliness, A. Monk can solve the most difficult crime cases in San Francisco.

Here's to the Monk in all of us .. to patience, to confidence, to faith, to assurance, to learning and to satisfaction.

(thanks JK for introducing me to A. Monk :))
