High!
No no, not that! I don't do all that :)
After a long time did I go high on a song. These are the days when I have highest level of concentration and get A Lottt of work done.
My definition of high on a song is as follows:
1. The song plays as soon as I wake up on the woofers in the bedroom.
2. Then the laptop follows me into that bathroom ;)
3. The CD plays it in my car in RPT mode (loop)
4. Phulki.com plays it in a continuous loop on the headphones in the office.
5. Same song plays in the car as I drive back.
6. Then again on the woofers until I sleep :)
Thinking back about which have these songs been .. (can't remember all though and in no particular order)

Life is a Poker!
If anyone told you that life is a game of chess, football or cricket; please wipe your board clean. Because life is a Poker :)
Your cards is all you have in that round. Just play if you stand a chance. If in doubt, go for it!
If confident of losing this round, wait for your winning cards, fold right away :)
Sometimes one has to take control (raise), sometimes give it away (fold). Giving away the control at the correct time makes the difference. It is better to accept and understand that we cannot win in each round. Hence the important thing is to understand is which winning round you should call or raise.
One can learn a lot by studying his own moves. Look for the signs in yourself: a shaking hand, a sparkle in the eye, a friendly nod or an unintended lean backward. Once you know from experience what means what, FAKE it all in public. Get a poker face.
Nothing is fair in the game, sometimes you are the small blind, sometimes the big blind. It is not in your hands, it is the rule of the game. Sometimes you suffer for what you did not do. Everyone does, at some point or the other.
If you believe in yourself, go for all in. Each round is not an all in round. Know the difference between intuition and facts.
One has to be really lucky to get a pocket pair. If you are the one, make use of it!
Mostly everyone contributes to the pot. Generally only one takes the jackpot home. You could be the one. Again, just play!
Don't fold when you can check, don't check when you can call, don't call when you can raise. Intuition with intellect is your power and the chance to win.
Don't bluff when you can use the intuition, sometimes do bluff on the high card. Everything is fair as long as you don't reveal your cards.
Good players learn the rules of the game and build their skills.
Sometimes you invest in bad bets and lose. Sometimes you execute flawlessly and still lose. But the more you bet the more you can win.
No single hand will kick you out of the game. Folded games are for strategy building. Stay focused on the present game, there is the next round to be played.
Don't be afraid to play, bluff, bet, call, raise, fold, win or lose. Because no one around you is. Act.
Paranormal Activity
Traditionally horror movies are terrifying because of the scary faces and the scary background scores. But does real horror need any music?
The entire movie is portrayed on the screen through the handycam held by either the boy or the girl. The movie is about a girl and her boyfriend living in a house where strange things happen every night. The paranormal activities are shown over a period of 18 nights (i guess) and the strange things increase in intensity each night.
The blue grey nightvision camera work to show some real-life scary scenes is innovative! No loud background music, but the killer silence is used to create the horror. Loved it!
If I was the directorial advisor, I would stabilize the camera a bit and shoot some scenes in third person. But overall excellent work I guess!

Talking about Life ..
.. it always reminds me of this dialogue between Julia roberts and Hugh Grant at the dinner table ... from the movie Notting Hill.
[who will get the last brownie?]
Anna Scott: Wait, what about me?
Max: Sorry, you think *you* deserve the brownie?
Anna Scott: Well a shot at it at least huh?
William: Well, you'll have to fight me for it, this is a very good brownie.
Anna Scott: I've been on a diet every day since I was nineteen, which basically means I've been hungry for a decade. I've had a series of not nice boyfriends, one of whom hit me. Ah, and every time I get my heart broken, the newspapers splash it about as though it's entertainment. And it's taken two rather painful operations to get me looking like this.
Honey: Really?
Anna Scott: Really. And, one day not long from now, my looks will go, they will discover I can't act and I will become some sad middle-aged woman who looks a bit like someone who was famous for a while.
Max: [long pause] Nah, nice try gorgeous, but you don't fool anyone.
William: Pathetic effort to hog the brownie.
[all laughs]
Awesome Poker quotes
If, after the first twenty minutes, you don't know who the sucker at the table is, it's you. ~David Levien and Brian Koppelman, Rounders
Your best chance to get a Royal Flush in a casino is in the bathroom. ~V.P. Pappy
The commonest mistake in history is underestimating your opponent; it happens at the poker table all the time. ~David Shoup

"All your life, son." ~Michael Pertwee
Poker's a day to learn and a lifetime to master. ~Robert Williamson III
Most of the money you'll win at poker comes not from the brilliance of your own play, but from the ineptitude of your opponents. ~Lou Krieger
The one who bets the most wins. Cards just break ties.
They called it Poker because the word 'Fuck!' was taken.
You will show your poker greatness by the hands you fold, not the hands you play.

Driving on reserve.
I am driving on reserve.
I cannot stop anywhere.
No gas station at sight.
Thousands of seconds to reach.
Millions of meters to cross.
I don't want to slow down.
But the weather is too foggy.
I just want to keep going on.
'coz I am driving on reserve.

PaperZone
One of my most successful discoveries in the Bellevue area is the shop named PaperZone. The reason is that I found one unique paper that I use in Carving On Paper. This used to be called T.K. Japan in Venus Traders, Pune.
This shop PaperZone has some amazing sheets of paper I have ever seen! Lots of variety of cardstock paper in more than a 100 colors.
Anyways, what I am interested in is named as 60# Exact Digital cardstock paper. It has the perfect thickness and smoothness/texture to get smooth curves that will retain their shape and emboss.
The other types such as 90# Exact Digital, 32# Exact Digital, 80# Environment, 57# Bristol, 65# Bright White are quite close to what I was looking for. It is 60# exact digital for now though.

Iktara
This song is stuck in my head for many days now: Iktara from 'Wake up Sid' ..
Jo barse sapne boond boond
Nainon ko moond moond
Kaise main chaloon,
dekh na sakoon
Anjaane raastein

Swimming @ Lake Tapps, WA
Lake Tapps is a very picturesque lake about 40 minutes from Bellevue. Relatively unknown, it is very silent location with a backdrop of Mt. Rainier.
It is huge (4.5 sq miles area) and a 45 miles shoreline.
It makes an excellent swimming location in summer. I also want to go kayaking in the lake some day and catch fresh water Salmon once I get my WA state fishing license :)
